Some I filmed. Some I only watched. Some in silence — others turning up the bass.

Chasing true stories.

02 — Watching

I've spent a life watching other people's faces.
Every now and then, a face looks back — and that's where it all begins.

Twenty years of portraits gathered around the world. These aren't travel photos. They're people who, for one instant, chose to truly be seen. Spin the globe, pick a place.

03 — Telling

Some journeys change your voice.

With Fondazione Pangea I crossed Afghanistan to tell the story of those who resisted without making a sound — the women above all. There I learned that the camera is the last thing that matters: first comes someone's right to be believed, as well as to live.

Everything else came after that lesson: the international crews, the edit rooms at four in the morning, the author credit on "The Guardians of the Sea – Sea Shepherd" (Amazon Prime Video, 2022), the work with Michael Moore on "Where to Invade Next". And today, closer to home, alongside the State Police helicopter crews.

04 — Protecting

Then I understood something simple:
a true story can go on only if the one living it comes home whole.

So today I protect stories as well as tell them. I'm a workplace health & safety officer and certified trainer: I teach at the Florence Police Headquarters and at the State Police helicopter units of Florence and Bari. In the classroom I bring the same unwritten law as the documentary — if they don't listen to you, you haven't protected them.

05 — Leaving

When the story won't come to you,
you go to the story.
By motorcycle, if possible.

Borders crossed behind a crew or alone. And when I want to listen to stories, I play them. A black Bass, real volume. The next road points up.

If you have a true story,
I know how to chase it.

Tony films, flies a drone over the sea, plays bass, and on his motorbike takes the wrong turn on purpose.
